Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical designs that meet our clients' requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Analyse and interpret pre-construction data and information to ensure project designs meet client specifications.
  2. Solve complex problems and develop design solutions, playing a central role in designing mechanical equipment for power and process control.
  3. Produce design deliverables, such as specifications, drawings, data sheets, and schedules, in accordance with contract requirements.
  4. Ensure design risk assessments and solutions consider innovation, value engineering, and best value, safety, cost, and time constraints.
  5. Provide technical support to pre-construction and project delivery teams, contributing to estimating, planning, and procurement functions.
  6. Assist in the identification and pre-qualification of subcontractors.
  7. Participate in client meetings, coordinate with third-party contractors, and attend start-up, site visit, and design meetings.
  8. Ensure that the design is submitted for acceptance by the Client Project Manager and that "Approved for Construction" documentation is prepared and issued to the delivery team.
  9. Continuously develop skills and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, best practices, and innovations within the water industry.
  10. Ensure all design activities comply with the requirements of the company's Integrated Management Systems and procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  11. Provide guidance and advice to site, construction, and remote delivery teams at all stages.
Requirements:
  1. Mechanical engineering qualification.
  2. Proven track record of design delivery.
  3. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  4. Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to diagnose problems and identify and recommend solutions.
  5. Excellent communication skills.
  6. Attention to detail.
  7. Ability to work on initiative, as part of a team and independently.
  8. Ability to lead and motivate.
  9. Ability to travel, plan, manage, and prioritise own workload.
Desirable Requirements:
  1. Previous experience working in the water industry.
