Executive Director Job Description

The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Fairmount CDC and implementing the organization's Strategic Plan and neighborhood plans. This includes leading various programmatic initiatives, identifying and securing new funding, managing external relationships, and administrative duties as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead monthly board meetings, biweekly executive board meetings, and other committee meetings as scheduled
  • Provide monthly and annual financial oversight
  • Create and manage committees as needed
Office Administration
  • Ensure all insurance and D&O policies are up to date
  • Verify all addresses, credit cards, and auto-payments are current
  • Collect and document mail, and deposit checks in the Neon CRM system
  • Maintain the office as needed
Staff Management
  • Create monthly work plans with the Business Services Manager and Communication Manager
  • Conduct weekly Business Services and Communication meetings
  • Remain available remotely for any issues throughout the week
  • Manage the street sweeping team's day-to-day needs
Development
  • Research grant opportunities and apply for recurring grants
  • Manage grant reporting and oversight
  • Research and apply for new grants
  • Lead capital campaign and other fundraising efforts
Events and Fundraising
  • Oversee and assist with general event management plans
  • Lead organization-wide event planning efforts
  • Work with the board and staff to achieve sponsorship goals
  • Approve logistics and marketing plans
  • Identify and pursue other fundraising opportunities
Business Resource Center Planning & Implementation
  • Create a business plan for the BRC
  • Develop an implementation and launch plan for the BRC
  • Oversee all financial aspects of the coworking space
Survey Management/Analysis
  • Create surveys to gather neighborhood input
  • Evaluate and report on survey results
  • Monitor and report on analytics as requested
  • Schedule quarterly clean-up events on Girard and Fairmount Avenue
  • Schedule volunteer events as needed
  • Manage external relations with neighborhood groups and key stakeholders
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with elected officials
