Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our SEN unit within our mainstream school. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to facilitate their learning and development.

The successful candidate will provide dedicated support to pupils with SEN, both in individual and group settings. They will assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of pupils within the SEN unit.

Fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment is essential in this role. You will work collaboratively with the SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide dedicated support to pupils with SEN, both in individual and group settings.
  2. Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of pupils within the SEN unit.
  3. Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel valued, supported, and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
  4. Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies effectively.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience working with children with SEN, preferably within a school setting.
  2. A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with pupils.
  3. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  4. A proactive attitude and willingness to support pupils' holistic development, including their social, emotional, and academic progress.
