Marine Operations Superintendent – Permanent Position
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join a well-established maritime organization.
In this role, you will oversee the safe, effective, and economical operation of the vessels assigned to you. This position requires a hands-on approach, where you will engage directly in vessel maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking activities alongside the service team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations and performance metrics of the vessels under your supervision, providing assistance to colleagues as necessary.
- Oversee the collection and submission of all monthly reports from the vessels, including maintenance logs, TMSA documentation, and returns from Masters and Chief Engineers.
- Once you are well-versed in the company's policies and procedures, you will be tasked with drafting work specifications and executing both scheduled and unscheduled repairs, either independently or collaboratively, depending on the project scope.
- Lead dry-dock operations, major upgrades, and repair initiatives.
- Handle all matters related to classification, ensuring timely scheduling of surveys.
Qualifications:
- Possession of an Unlimited Chief Engineer III/2 Certificate (or equivalent) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of marine electrical systems is essential.
- Familiarity with the ISM Code and classification regulations is required, along with the ability to coordinate effectively among ship personnel, surveyors, owners, and charterers.
- Experience at sea on tankers is highly desirable.
- Previous shore-based experience in a similar capacity is advantageous.
This position is office-based, and candidates should be prepared to reside within a reasonable commuting distance.
Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and possess a valid UK driver's license.
