Boyd Recruitment is collaborating with a reputable provider of signage, electrical solutions, and safety inspections within the transport sector, who is seeking to appoint a Site Operations Manager.

Role Overview
The Site Operations Manager will report directly to the Projects Delivery Manager and will oversee the management of various sites. A valid UK driver's license is essential, as the role requires travel across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be tasked with:

  • Managing site operations across ongoing projects, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and quality expectations.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers to execute projects in alignment with business and client specifications.
  • Monitoring project timelines and budgets, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Supervising teams on diverse customer sites, including public car parks and converted land, while coordinating with electrical installation teams for the setup of electrical systems.

Additional Duties
As part of your role, you will:

  • Engage with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and other professionals.
  • Provide legal oversight and consult with professional advisors as necessary.
  • Assist in the recruitment process for the department in accordance with company needs.
  • Support the Projects Delivery Manager with employee evaluations, disciplinary actions, and terminations as per company guidelines.
  • Conduct performance assessments of the site management team, identifying training needs and facilitating development opportunities.
  • Establish key performance indicators for team members.
  • Prepare and present weekly reports to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Hold regular meetings with team members to review project status and progress.
  • Develop and implement new processes, as well as refine existing ones.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives within the construction team.
  • Ensure all team members understand and fulfill their roles and responsibilities.
  • Consistently demonstrate safe working practices, adhering to company health and safety protocols.
  • Conduct audits and surveillance on sites managed by partners and subcontractors.

Candidate Profile
The ideal Site Operations Manager will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably with a background in civil engineering, electric vehicle installations, or renewable energy.
  • Knowledge of ICP works and/or HV/LV electrical installations.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • Understanding of CDM regulations.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient IT skills, including experience with MS Project.
  • A methodical approach to project management.
  • Experience in managing remote teams on-site.
  • Health and safety qualifications or experience.
  • Desirable UKPIA/SPA accreditation.
  • Experience in managing projects on petrol forecourt sites is advantageous, though training will be provided.
