About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Pearson Carter. As a key member of our technology team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality applications and backend services that meet the business needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Collaborate with our team to design, develop, and test solutions that meet the business requirements of our clients.
  • Software Maintenance: Take a key role in maintaining existing software and data infrastructure to ensure seamless operations.
  • Documentation: Write documentation of new processes and products to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Quality Assurance: Focus on delivering high-quality code and deliverables, and define and execute practices such as continuous integration and test-driven development.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the team to manage, track, and update work done within agile software development tools.
  • Mentorship: Mentor other members of the team and facilitate and review team Agile processes.
  • Communication: Serve as a focal point for team communication and ensure seamless collaboration.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Expert knowledge of.NET / C# and significant experience of application design and development.
  • Cloud Experience: Good experience with application development using public cloud platforms, ideally AWS or Azure.
  • Database Management: Knowledge and experience of SQL development, e.g. Oracle or SQL Server.
  • Agile Methodologies: Knowledge and experience of Agile development methodologies.
  • Version Control: Strong understanding of GIT.
  • API Development: Knowledge and experience in SOAP APIs.
  • Leadership: Experience of mentoring and leadership.
