Job Summary:

Service Care Solutions - Social Work is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Probation Officer to join our team. As a Probation Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals on community sentences, ensuring they actively engage with the Probation Service and fulfill their obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and Manage Risk: Conduct thorough assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks posed by offenders to victims and the public.
  • Supervise and Manage Offenders: Provide guidance and support to individuals on community sentences, ensuring they comply with Probation Service policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Agencies: Work closely with other organizations to prevent crime, support victims, and promote offender rehabilitation.
  • Ensure Compliance: Verify that offenders adhere to community sentence requirements, including unpaid work and reporting obligations.
  • Provide Case Management Support: Offer guidance and resources to help offenders overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Produce Accurate Reports: Compile and submit detailed reports on offender progress, risk assessments, and other relevant information.
  • Conduct Visits: Conduct regular visits to offenders' homes, prisons, or other locations to monitor their progress and provide support.
  • Work in Court Settings: Participate in court proceedings, including preparing reports and presenting evidence.
  • Deliver Programs: Co-lead and deliver accredited programs to support offender rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
  • Safeguarding Duties: Uphold agency policies and procedures related to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Pro-Social Modeling: Demonstrate positive behaviors and attitudes to promote offender rehabilitation and reintegration.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience working as a Probation Service Officer is highly valued.
