Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our proactive security team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting a safe and secure environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver Trust Violence & Aggression Training to all staff, ensuring that all training dates are completed annually and prompted to Trust-wide, targeting high-risk areas.
  • Assist the senior security supervisor in the supervision of the security team, identifying and responding to user needs, and solving problems/complaints as they arise.
  • Monitor and report any faults of door access systems, ensuring access and security systems are working.
  • Monitor the administration and production of door access cards.
  • Supervise and manage the Security Hub activity and services, ensuring that supervisors and officers are monitoring all security functions and assuming control of incidents as a control authority during incidents.
  • Monitor fire protection systems and take responsibility for the coordination of the security team and supervisors during fire alarm activations.
  • Monitor and report any untoward incidents and accidents using Datix, and allocate actions to the supervisory team.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with the following skills and experience:

  • Understanding of security services and experience of planning and delivering Violence and Aggression training.
  • Awareness of NHS hospital security policy and good knowledge of the hospital environment.
  • Experience of managing staff within a security environment and experience of NHS security.
  • Conflict management, violence, and aggression experience, as well as customer service experience.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety and in-depth knowledge of MCA/DOLS.
  • Advising clinical staff on legal legislation regarding violence and aggression/restraint, and knowledge of Access Control/CCTV Systems.
Qualifications and Education

We require an individual with the following qualifications and education:

  • General education including numeracy and literacy.
  • Violence and aggression teaching qualification.
