Job Title: SEN Educational Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an experienced SEN Educational Teaching Assistant to join our team at a High needs Autism special school in Huddersfield. The successful candidate will have a minimum level 2 teaching Assistant Qualification, GNVQ level 2 or above Health and social care, SEND Diploma or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the children on the autistic spectrum disorder and understand the differentiated needs.
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for learning.
  • Support the class teacher with tasks and activities set for the learners.
  • Have solid knowledge and understanding of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and provide proven evidence.
  • Must have experience with PECS and MAKATON.
  • Team Teach is an advantage, but not necessary.
  • Personal care may be needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum level 2 teaching Assistant Qualification, GNVQ level 2 or above Health and social care, SEND Diploma or equivalent.
  • PECS, MAKATON, Hoist training, Manual handling.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Diligent, resilient, and pro-active in your approach.
  • Must demonstrate experience and Knowledge of Autistic spectrum disorder.
