Black Country Job Support is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Activity Coordinator to join our team at Cedar Ward. As an Activity Coordinator, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering therapeutic activities that enhance the provision of ward-based meaningful activity for older adults.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate a varied activity program that suits the needs of patients and enhances the provision of ward-based meaningful activity.
- Work effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary team to provide a program of ward-based therapeutic activities that are flexible according to the changing needs of patients.
- Utilize creative skills to engage patients in therapeutic activities that promote independence and wellbeing.
- Provide effective verbal and written reports on patients' progress and provide information in respect of mental state and risk factors.
- Report and escalate any concerns regarding patient risks and safeguarding to the relevant senior professional.
- Ensure that patients retain their dignity, choice, and individuality.
- Coordinate activities such as creative arts, cooking groups, physical exercise groups, and patient forum groups on the ward.
- Collaborate with the ward psychologist to support in delivering groups such as mindfulness and wellness activity action plans.
- Respond appropriately to challenging situations and support in the management of patients' needs when required.

Person Specification
- Experience of working with older adults with a mental illness.
