Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Financial Controller to join our team at Equity Finance Partners. As a key member of our finance function, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth and development of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of monthly board packs, including financial reporting and analysis.
  • Manage and develop a team of 15 finance professionals, providing technical guidance and coaching as needed.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of financial plans.
  • Review and evaluate current financial systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure strong financial controls and processes are in place to protect assets and maximize profit performance.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings.
  • Prepare and review annual consolidated financial statements, working closely with external auditors.
  • Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts and financial KPIs.
  • Improve reporting timelines to meet the requirements of private equity investors.
  • Lead the monthly group cash flow forecasting process, including covenant reporting and treasury management.
  • Oversee the annual external audit process, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and R&D requirements.
  • Manage M&A transaction accounting and support integration activities.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required.
  • Support the exit process, including data room and due diligence activities.

Requirements:

  • Graduate-level education with a strong academic record.
  • Professional accounting qualification, ideally with experience in practice before moving to industry.
  • Ability to build a high-performing finance function, developing the team and improving financial reporting quality and timeliness.
  • Strong technical knowledge of statutory accounting (IFRS) and compliance, with experience in M&A and taxation (UK and Europe).
  • Experience with monthly group consolidations, including overseas trading entities with foreign exchange exposure.
  • Strong IT and systems skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Engaging and confident, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with C-suite and department heads.
