Job Title: Environmental Programme Manager

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Programme Manager to lead our team in Stanford le Hope, Essex.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the environmental programme at DP World London Gateway, a deep sea container port and logistics park development. This includes devising, developing, and implementing environmental strategies and monitoring, as well as ensuring environmental regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental management, with experience in leading environmental programmes and achieving environmental consents. They will also have commercial awareness and the ability to negotiate contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the environmental programme, including developing and implementing environmental strategies and monitoring
  • Ensure environmental regulatory compliance, including obtaining and maintaining relevant environmental licenses and permits
  • Lead in the development and implementation of DP World London Gateway's environmental monitoring programmes and strategies
  • Procure resources (internal and external) to meet the requirements of the environmental programme
  • Manage the environmental works undertaken by contractors and consultants, and provide expert advisory support to other teams
Requirements:
  • Degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or equivalent qualification
  • Full membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of environmental laws related to development activities at DP World London Gateway
  • Proven track record of project management on large projects, including highways, rail, power, dredging, marine work, construction, warehousing, and industry
