About the Role

We are seeking a Seasonal Retail Assistant to join our team at Chester Zoo. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and sales support in our gift shops and other retail areas.

As a Seasonal Retail Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles, including face painting and handimals, working in our busy warehouse, and fulfilling online shop orders. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, interacting with visitors and providing a high level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and sales support in our gift shops and other retail areas

  • Support the Food & Beverage team to meet the needs of the business
What We Offer
  • Seasonal contract, starting 2 November 2024, until 5 January 2025
  • £11.44 per hour
  • Working on a rota basis with hours available from 8 to 40 hours per week
  • Annual leave which accrues based on hours of work
  • Staff pass so you can visit the zoo during your time off, plus complimentary tickets for your friends and family
  • Free bus travel available from Chester and Ellesmere Port train stations
Requirements
  • Be passionate about excellent customer service and feel confident communicating with visitors
  • Be positive, flexible, and approachable with a 'can do' attitude
  • Enjoy exceeding targets and up selling
  • Be comfortable and able to work outside for long periods in all weathers
  • 5/7 day availability
