Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit in Salford. The successful candidate will work closely with Key Stage 3 pupils who require additional support due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of SEMH and behaviour management, with experience working with pupils who exhibit challenging behaviour. They will be able to provide a calm and regulating presence in the classroom, supporting pupils to engage and progress throughout the school day.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, with a competitive daily rate of £83.85+ through PAYE. The successful candidate will be required to register with Teaching Personnel and undergo an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS check.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs in a Pupil Referral Unit setting
  • Work closely with teachers to develop and implement individualised learning plans
  • Provide a calm and regulating presence in the classroom
  • Support pupils to engage and progress throughout the school day
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure effective support for pupils
Requirements:
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs
  • Good understanding of SEMH and behaviour management
  • Ability to provide a calm and regulating presence in the classroom
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS check
