Position Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to provide assistance to adults with additional support requirements who reside in their own residences or with family. You will collaborate with your team to empower those we assist in establishing a solid foundation for a fulfilling future.

Many of our care support specialists pursue formal qualifications in social care as they enhance their professional capabilities, or engage in support roles while continuing their education.

Role: Care Support Specialist
Service: Housing & Community Support Services (HACSS)
Base: As determined by the line manager

Supervision: Practice and Wellbeing Leader

Compensation:

Unqualified: £24,402.92 - £24,890.98 per annum pro rata (based on a 39-hour work week)

Qualified: £24,890.98 - £25,338.37 per annum pro rata (based on a 39-hour work week)

Casual Rate: £12 per hour
Sleepover Rate: £96 per night (if applicable)

Work Hours: Night shifts from 9 PM to 9 AM, seven nights a week. Full-time, part-time, and casual hours available.

Requirements: Training will be provided for specific needs.

Main Objective:

The primary goal of this position is to deliver a compassionate, efficient, and effective 24/7 support service to individuals utilizing The Action Group's services. This includes aiding individuals in skill development by supervising and engaging in various support activities that enhance their opportunities and promote choice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the TAG Key Worker system, including organizing support plans and case reviews with relevant stakeholders.
  • Promote the physical and emotional well-being of individuals by supporting self-care and conducting risk assessments.
  • Foster meaningful and trusting relationships with those we support.
  • Encourage independence in daily living activities, providing assistance only when necessary.
  • Support individuals in pursuing their hobbies and interests, facilitating participation in community life.
  • Assist with personal care as required.
  • Enhance communication skills and promote self-advocacy.
  • Advocate for individuals when necessary, liaising with external organizations.
  • Engage with relatives and caregivers to ensure their involvement in the individual's life.
  • Research local services and amenities available to those we support.
  • Participate flexibly in various shift patterns as needed.
  • Occasionally cover for short-term absences of colleagues.

General Responsibilities:
