Service Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Service Engineer to join our team at FPR Group. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing technical situations on location, providing service, maintenance, and repairs of lifeboats, davits, winches, and cranes on board vessels and offshore installations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess technical situations on location and provide service, maintenance, and repairs of lifeboats, davits, winches, and cranes.
  • Check previous service reports, equipment manuals, and verify that parts are available and other requirements are met.
  • Travel and work away and offshore at times, typically across the north of England.
  • Receive fantastic overtime additions, working away allowances, a company van, a company mobile phone, and a company credit card for business expenses.
Requirements:
  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Broad technical background in the area of mechanics, electrical, hydraulic (drive technology) and control engineering (PLCs and frequency controllers).
  • At least 5 years' relevant work experience.
  • Experience in the maritime/offshore industry is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams.
