Job Title: Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to join our CAMHS Team at the Oxford Health NHS Trust.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the mental health needs of children within the service are met and the correct actions are taken forward. This will involve liaising with all professionals to ensure the correct department is aware of any concerns raised.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prioritise own day-to-day workload and ensure that LAC cases are appropriately prioritised.
  2. Offer support and clinical advice and guidance to the team around the treatment of LAC.
  3. Undertake assessments of LAC children and their wider support network to ensure their mental health and wellbeing needs are met.
  4. Offer brief intervention/advice and guidance to children and their wider support network as appropriate.
  5. Ensure all children are assessed in a timely manner in line with local and national LAC targets.
  6. Ensure that care and assessments are adequately planned and documented on the electronic medical notes system, including care plans and risk assessments.
  7. Offer signposting/support and guidance to other staff members and services as appropriate regarding the treatment and management of Looked After children.
  8. Have detailed knowledge relating to both the national and local protocols and procedures regarding the treatment and management of LAC and ensure that these are adhered to across the wider CAMHS network.
