Job Title: Transportation Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transportation Coordinator to join our team at Flannery Plant Hire. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient coordination of transportation activities, including the movement of machinery and equipment to and from various job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles to transport machinery and equipment to designated locations.
  • Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including delivery schedules, vehicle maintenance logs, and driver logs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Track data for the transport planning team, organizing abnormal load notifications across the UK.
  • Liaise with drivers, equipment operators, and transport teams across the country to provide timely updates on transportation schedules, address any issues or delays, and ensure smooth communication channels.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels of machinery and equipment at various job sites, coordinating replenishment and relocation as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation laws and regulations, including safety standards, weight limits, and licensing requirements, to uphold the company's commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and resolve transportation-related issues in a timely and efficient manner, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to implement effective solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the transportation function, contributing to the overall optimization of logistics operations.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in transportation coordination, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices is desirable.
