CNC Machinist Specialist

Advanced Innovative Manufacturing (AIM) is seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating CNC milling and turning machinery, particularly with Fanuc or Mazatrol control systems. This role is critical to ensuring the precision and efficiency of our manufacturing processes, particularly in low-batch, high-mix production runs.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up and operate Mazak Variaxis i-500 / Doosan DNM 6700 Fanuc-controlled, 3-5 axis milling, and turning machines to produce component parts, ranging from basic to complex, for low-batch, high-mix production runs.
- Create or modify basic CNC programs using G & M code to optimize machine performance and part production.
- Perform self-inspections of repeat work using appropriate inspection tools to ensure components meet quality standards.
- Conduct regular Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on machinery to ensure optimal machine performance and longevity.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency, reducing waste, and implementing lean manufacturing principles.
- Extensive experience in operating CNC milling and turning machinery, particularly with Fanuc or Mazatrol control systems.
- Strong understanding of machine tooling, inspection measuring equipment, and the ability to produce high-quality components with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in creating and modifying CNC programs using G & M code.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and data to ensure precise production of components.
- Thirty-eight hours a week, Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm (with a 30-minute lunch break).
- Fridays, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
- Standard 21 days of annual leave plus statutory bank holidays.
