Reporting to the Head of Business Partnering, the HR Policy Specialist will be responsible for the development, composition, and upkeep of a thorough array of HR policies and procedures that align with the strategic goals of Sovereign Housing Association. This role ensures adherence to legal standards and best practices while embodying the organization's culture.
The successful candidate will engage with various stakeholders throughout the organization to assess HR policy requirements and collect input. Utilizing exceptional writing abilities and innovative thinking, you will transform intricate information into straightforward, succinct documents that are contemporary in style and appearance, facilitating a cultural shift in operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting research, formulating, and drafting HR policies, procedures, and guidelines that comply with legal frameworks and reflect a progressive approach.
- Partnering with stakeholders, including Employee Forums, to pinpoint HR policy necessities and enact modifications.
- Evaluating and revising existing policies in light of changes in legislation, regulations, and organizational practices.
- Developing and sustaining a policy handbook that is user-friendly and comprehensible for all employees.
- Communicating new and updated policies to staff and management, offering training and support to HR teams as well as employees and managers.
- Regularly reviewing policies to ensure they remain current and addressing any inquiries regarding interpretation.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a background in Human Resources with a solid grasp of HR practices, employment legislation, and regulatory standards. Demonstrable experience in HR policy development or a comparable role is essential. Additionally, you should have:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- The ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong creativity and innovative thinking.
- Proficient research and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities to prioritize tasks effectively.
- A collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR information systems.
