Job Title: Interim Procurement Consultant

The role of Interim Procurement Consultant requires an individual with a strong understanding of the end-to-end procurement process and the new procurement act regulations.

About the Role

As an Interim Procurement Consultant, you will be responsible for leading and enhancing procurement strategies in a large-scale educational environment. You must have worked on a consultative basis before and be able to advise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers and review supplier contracts to ensure the best terms and conditions.
  • Ensure that procurement policies comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders within and outside the college.
  • Implement risk management procedures to minimise procurement risks.
  • Conduct regular reviews of supplier performance.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to procurement team members.
Requirements
  • A proven track record working as a procurement consultant and based in the north (hybrid working required).
  • Proven experience in a senior procurement role helping to implement the strategy, introduce processes, and review all contracts.
  • Ideally worked within education or public sector.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence stakeholders and take them on a journey.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • A strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
