Job Title: Technical Director - Ecology

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Director - Ecology to join our team at RPS Group. As a key member of our ecological team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality ecological services, including master planning, ecological appraisals, and protected species surveys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage ecological projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results
  • Develop and implement ecological strategies, including habitat creation and restoration
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their ecological needs and develop tailored solutions
  • Manage and mentor a team of ecological consultants, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest ecological techniques, legislation, and guidance, ensuring our services remain at the forefront of industry best practice

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in ecological consultancy, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions
  • Full understanding of the technical discipline, including current methods, legislation, and guidance
