Ford and Slater, a prominent dealer group for DAF Trucks in the UK, is seeking a dedicated Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic to join our exceptional team at our Newark depot.

As a Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic on the night shift, we provide:

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Previous experience as a Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic or in a related field such as Commercial Vehicles, LGV, PSV, Heavy Plant, or Automotive sectors.
  • Possession of a qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is preferred.
  • Alternatively, a time-served Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic is welcome.

Ability to engage in breakdown assistance is essential.

Proficiency in completing all necessary paperwork, including job cards and service records, is required.

A general level of computer literacy is beneficial.

  • Must hold a valid UK driving license.

Responsibilities of the Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic include:

- Conducting servicing and maintenance on a diverse range of trucks and vehicles.

- Performing fault diagnostics and preparing vehicles for MOT.

- Executing mechanical and electrical repairs while adhering to manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.

- Conducting road tests as required, subject to licensing restrictions.

- Participating in any technical or development training provided.

- Working hours are Monday to Friday from 9:15 PM to 6:45 AM.
