Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Apprentice Quality Engineer at New College Durham. As an Apprentice Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct thorough material tests to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  2. Document and finalize all test results, providing detailed analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  3. Support the quality system by researching and communicating chemical compliance information to our customers.
  4. Collaborate with the Quality Manager and team on 8D projects, driving process improvements and resolving quality issues.
  5. Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures, ensuring adherence to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
  6. Provide support for audits, ensuring that our quality management system is robust and effective.
  7. Manage and complete ISO 9001 and 14001 records, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation.

Requirements

  1. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams, with strong report writing skills.
  2. Ability to work independently, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  3. Effective time management and organizational skills, with a high attention to detail.
  4. Ability to analyze data and provide insights for process improvements.

Working Arrangements

  1. Monday to Thursday, 7:45am to 4:15pm.
  2. Friday, 7:45am to 1:45pm.
  3. No weekends.
  4. Flexible working hours around core hours if needed.
