About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Person to join our team at Abingworth Hall, a stunning country house nestled in the heart of the South Downs National Park. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our 30-bedroom property, providing exceptional maintenance and repair services to our guests and staff.

As a Maintenance Person, you will be the first point of contact for any maintenance-related issues, working closely with our Area Maintenance Manager to resolve problems efficiently and effectively. Your expertise in plumbing, electrical work, pool plant maintenance, and carpentry will be invaluable in maintaining the high standards of our property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry
  • Respond to maintenance requests from guests and staff in a timely and professional manner
  • Work collaboratively with the Area Maintenance Manager to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks
  • Ensure the property is maintained to the highest standards, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the property's systems and equipment
Requirements
  • Recent experience in a maintenance or trade-related role
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures
