Position Overview
As a Reliability Systems Engineer, you will leverage your skills to develop, sustain, and enhance Best Buy Health's internal and client-facing platforms. Your daily responsibilities will involve collaboration across various departments, including Software Development, Information Security, and Quality Assurance.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will actively engage in the construction, upkeep, and expansion of Best Buy Health's (Current Health's) internal and customer-oriented services.

This encompasses:

  • Enhancing and preserving the availability, performance, security, and scalability of the platform.
  • Developing new and maintaining existing infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and bespoke tools.
  • Collaborating with software development teams on innovative system designs or reengineering current services to accommodate new specifications.
  • Offering training, documentation, support, and tools to empower software development teams to take full responsibility for their services from inception through to production.

Essential Qualifications

  • An Associate's degree, completion of a Coding Bootcamp/code school certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS services, Linux, networking, infrastructure as code, configuration as code, and managing distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern high-level programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go).
  • A methodical approach to problem-solving, even in uncertain situations, while collaborating within a larger team.
  • Conducting cost optimization initiatives to appropriately size our AWS resources to meet patient needs while ensuring profitability.
  • Engaging with software development teams to provide insights and opinions on new system designs or reengineering existing services.
  • Assisting in providing 24/7 support for the product, addressing live issues as necessary.
