Senior Java Developer / Software Engineer (Java SpringBoot AI)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our team in London. As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the underlying application layer to expose and encapsulate fundamental Generative AI capabilities, facilitating scalability and the adoption of AI including AI systems and architecture, prompt engine development, continuous monitoring and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement the underlying application layer to expose and encapsulate fundamental Generative AI capabilities
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to introduce cutting-edge AI technology
  • Act as an AI champion within the wider technology team, keeping up with the latest advancements and seeking continual improvement
  • Mentor other engineers as a valued member of the company's tech community

Requirements:

  • Commercial experience of working with AI, with a demonstrable interest in Generative AI concepts
  • Strong backend web development experience with Java and SpringBoot
  • Technical project leadership and mentoring experience
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, messaging, event sourcing; Kafka would be a plus
  • Test-driven approach, TDD, Agile methodologies and processes
