We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Guard. As a key member of our on-board service, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our customers and colleagues.
Main Responsibilities- Monitor and respond to safety incidents and emergencies
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive experience for all passengers
- Manage disruptions and changes to schedules or routes
- Conduct regular safety checks and inspections
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues through regular announcements
- Ensure the safe operation of the train, including customer boarding and alighting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina to perform manual handling tasks
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
On average, you will work 37 hours per week over 4.5 days, with a mix of early and late shifts across 7 days.
Additional InformationWe require a high level of physical fitness and the ability to pass a medical check. You must also be able to travel to and from the depot within 60 minutes. A car is preferred, but not essential.
We offer a competitive salary, annual leave entitlement, and a range of benefits, including free duty and leisure travel on SWR services. If you are successful, you will also receive a complimentary travel invite to attend an assessment in Southampton.
Our salary package includes a starting salary of £24,450 per annum, rising to £35,257 per annum after completion of training and a further 12 months fully qualified. You will also receive an annual regional allowance of £999.
