About the Role

As Head of VitalityLife Data Science, you'll lead a team of data scientists and actuaries, driving innovation and strategic decision-making within our life insurance division. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge data science capabilities that enhance business performance and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Shape the vision, roadmap, and infrastructure for data science within VitalityLife. Guide your team in delivering impactful analytical solutions across various business functions.
  • Model Development & Deployment: Design, build, and deploy sophisticated machine learning models to address complex business challenges. Leverage a range of techniques, including gradient boosting, random forests, and neural networks, to extract valuable insights from structured and unstructured data.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Collaborate closely with executives and departmental heads to provide actionable data-driven recommendations. Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise reports for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Team Management & Mentorship: Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of data scientists. Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
  • Innovation & Research: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science and machine learning. Explore new technologies and methodologies to enhance our analytical capabilities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer, with a strong focus on life insurance or financial services.
  • Expertise in developing and deploying machine learning models using Python or R.
  • Deep understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis techniques.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
