University of Worcester seeks a dedicated Clinical Education Lead to champion student learning and development during their crucial Phase 1 placements.

This role is pivotal in shaping the future of healthcare professionals, ensuring they receive high-quality clinical training that prepares them for success.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of a dynamic curriculum specifically tailored to Phase 1 student learning during community placements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating existing curricula and incorporating innovative teaching methodologies.
  • Collaborate with academic colleagues to ensure seamless integration between theoretical knowledge and practical clinical experience.
  • Disseminate new educational insights through conferences, publications, and workshops, contributing to the advancement of medical education.
  • Play a key role in recruiting and supporting clinical placements within primary care settings, ensuring their quality and alignment with program objectives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to both educational supervisors and students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Network extensively with healthcare professionals and institutions to strengthen partnerships and enhance placement opportunities.
Your Profile:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual with a strong commitment to medical education.

Experience
  • Minimum of two years post-qualification clinical experience is essential.
  • Proven track record of teaching undergraduate or postgraduate degree programs in relevant subject areas, demonstrating expertise in innovative curriculum design.
  • Desirable: Experience in clinical placement recruitment, support, and development.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory bodies and national strategic developments in Higher Education.
Qualifications
  • Essential: A related healthcare qualification to degree level, PG Cert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (or equivalent), and/or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy/Advance HE or working towards it. Registration with an appropriate Professional Body (GMC/ Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register [PAMVR], or equivalent).
  • Desirable: PhD in a related field, relevant professional qualifications, or equivalent professional experience.
