About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Interaction Designer to join our team at Manchester Digital. As a key member of our design community, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience of our digital services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of user-centered digital services, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of user needs, behaviors, and motivations, using research and analytics to inform design decisions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to negotiate design decisions, ensuring that solutions meet business objectives and user needs.
  • Design and deliver high-quality, accessible, and inclusive digital experiences that meet the Government Design Principles.
  • Set the design direction and good practice within your teams, inspiring and mentoring more junior designers.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing within and between teams, ensuring that designs are reusable and consistent with the GOV.UK Design System.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Proven experience in service design, with a focus on user-centered design principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed design decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Experience in mentoring and guiding junior designers, with a focus on knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • A deep understanding of the importance of inclusive, equitable, and accessible digital services.
