Job Overview

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Service Engineer to support our operations. This role involves testing, repairing, and modifying electrical and welding machinery and circuitry, either within our facilities or at various client locations.

Work Schedule: Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week.

Compensation: Includes a car allowance of £450 per month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with the Company’s Safety, Health, and Environment Policy at all times.
  • Service and repair machinery and related products both in-house and on-site.
  • Complete repairs and documentation in line with the Company's Codes of Practice and its BS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to service calls and ensuring high-quality workmanship.
  • Conduct regular electrical inspections on calibration equipment to verify operational compliance.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of parts in the workshop to facilitate efficient repairs.
  • Participate in training sessions to remain informed about new technologies and practices.
  • Complete daily work logs and submit them to the Branch Manager.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the workshop and company vehicle, reporting any damages to the line manager.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proficient in numeracy and literacy.
  • Good health and physical fitness, with particularly good eyesight.
  • Relevant work experience and knowledge in the field.
  • Familiarity with machinery and tools, including their design, usage, repair, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic devices, and computer hardware/software, including applications and programming.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment design and production.
  • Strong customer service abilities, including needs assessment and quality standards evaluation.
  • Logical reasoning skills to assess the strengths and weaknesses of various solutions.
  • Problem-solving capabilities to identify complex issues and evaluate potential solutions.
  • Ability to comprehend work-related documents and communicate information effectively.
  • Conduct tests and inspections to assess quality and performance.
  • Capacity to focus on tasks over extended periods without distraction.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the operational needs of the organization.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work environments, notifying the Branch Manager of necessary repairs.
  • Effective listening, speaking, and time management skills.
