About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Youth Worker to join our Targeted Youth Support Service team at Oxfordshire County Council.

As a Youth Worker, you will play a key role in delivering our schools, community, and detached programmes, working closely with young people, schools, and local communities to achieve joint outcomes.

You will be responsible for delivering creative, targeted programmes of support to young people at risk, advocating for them where necessary, and ensuring timely guidance and interventions are in place to support their social and emotional development.

You will work closely with colleagues across the Council and externally to look at current needs of young people and the most appropriate responses to deliver positive outcomes together.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver one-to-one and group work with young people, as well as detached work and community-based programmes.
  • Work closely with schools and local communities to achieve joint outcomes and strengthen collaborative links.
  • Develop and deliver targeted programmes of support to young people at risk, including advocacy and guidance.
  • Contribute to the development of young people's support plans and work with colleagues to ensure timely interventions are in place.
  • Work with colleagues across the Council and externally to identify and address the needs of young people.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Ability to travel to and access a variety of premises with ease.
  • Commitment to inter-agency and partnership working.
  • Commitment to whole family working.
  • Flexibility in working arrangements, locations, and hours to meet operational requirements.

You will have experience of working with young people, advocating on their behalf, and attending multi-agency meetings to plan the best possible outcomes.

You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will be committed to delivering high-quality services that meet the needs of young people and their families.
