Clinical Education Lead and Speciality Pharmacist

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Education Lead and Speciality Pharmacist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our pharmacy division, you will play a crucial role in shaping the delivery of our multi-sector foundation programme, including the inclusion of independent prescribing competencies.
The successful candidate will have a senior role within the Health Board, responsible for working collaboratively with Health Board sites and Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) to ensure the successful delivery of the programme. You will also provide clinical services on site, including dispensary, ward-based clinical care, and prescribing services where applicable.
The post holder will be expected to work with educators and managers across acute hospital sites and sectors, including primary and community pharmacy, prison pharmacy, and NHS 111 to ensure smooth planning, delivery, and support. You will also collaborate with other professional group leads (medical, nursing, and allied health professions) in the planning and delivery of multi-professional education.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Health Board sites and HEIW to ensure the successful delivery of the multi-sector foundation programme.
- Provide clinical services on site, including dispensary, ward-based clinical care, and prescribing services where applicable.
- Work with educators and managers across acute hospital sites and sectors to ensure smooth planning, delivery, and support.
- Collaborate with other professional group leads in the planning and delivery of multi-professional education.
Person Specification
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Education Lead and Speciality Pharmacist who possesses the following qualifications and attributes:
- GPhC registrant
- PGDip or equivalent
- Experience as a Clinical Supervisor, Specialist Pharmacist, and QI or Research
- Ability to challenge trainees and teach and assess across settings
