About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician to join our team at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing essential venepuncture services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain routine samples of venous blood from hospital in-patients and outpatients for the purpose of pathology testing.
  • Assist the Phlebotomy Manager and Phlebotomy Supervisors in the provision of an effective and responsive service to our users within available resources.
  • Provide cover on both sites to meet the service needs, working across Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital.
  • Participate in regular training and competency assessment to ensure the highest standard of care for our patients.
Requirements
  • A good standard of secondary education and experience in dealing with patients, customers or clients in a healthcare environment.
  • A pleasant and compassionate nature, good communication skills, and the ability to work flexibly within a team.
  • Able to work without close supervision yet fit into a team when required.
  • Able to follow a full training programme to maintain required level of competency.
  • Able to work under pressure and wear personal protective equipment.
