About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Behavioural Data Scientist to join our Trials and Analysis team at the Centre for Net Zero (CNZ) for a 6-month fixed-term contract. As a Behavioural Data Scientist, you will lead the trial design and analysis of a randomised control trial (RCT) with Octopus Electroverse, working closely with a project manager and other researchers in CNZ's Trials and Analysis team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing the field trial and drafting a pre-analysis plan, in compliance with requirements from the funder of this work
  • Working closely with a project manager on our team to help Octopus Electroverse deliver the trial in a way that maintains fidelity to the pre-analysis plan and enables rigorous analysis once complete
  • Leading the analyses of this trial, and helping structure these analyses to turn them into high-quality reporting
  • Leading the write-up of these analyses into accessible, policy-facing materials
  • Liaising with partners, managing and coordinating implementation across partners, and communicating updates to key partners and external stakeholders
Requirements
  • Attention to detail and curiosity, with an eagerness to learn more about the energy industry
  • Demonstrate an ability to write clear, maintainable code
  • Demonstrable experience designing and analysing randomised controlled trials
  • Demonstrable experience communicating coherently and handling multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience writing accessible, policy-facing summaries of research
