Job Title: Transport Planner

Join Metro, a leading provider of logistics and supply chain solutions, as a Transport Planner. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation network, working closely with internal departments and external suppliers to deliver exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport Planning: Develop and implement transportation plans to meet customer requirements, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Haulage Allocation: Manage haulage operations, allocating resources to meet customer demands and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating rates and services to meet customer needs.
  • Transport Service Level and Cost Constraints: Balance service level and cost requirements, ensuring that transportation services meet customer expectations while minimizing costs.
Requirements:
  • UK Haulage Operation: Experience in UK haulage operations, including FCL and LCL, and warehousing operations.
  • Intermodal and Multiple Ports Operations: Knowledge of intermodal and multiple ports operations, including container inventory management.
  • Excellent Planning and Attention to Detail: Strong planning and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent Communication and Influencing Skills: Excellent communication and influencing skills, with ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
