Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Advisor Investor Engagement to join our Corporate Engagement team. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic framework to engage with and influence asset owners, asset managers, and banks; investor and banking forums; and other NGOs related to our Zero Conversion Commodity goals and other environmental topics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage finance sector and investor influence strategy development and execution in partnership with the Zero Conversion Commodities Strategy and other global and regional Business Units.
  • Build and manage relationships with senior level staff of investor and banking forums, target financial institutions, and NGO partners.
  • Support Managing Director, Corporate Engagement and the Global Head of Impact Finance and Markets in their engagement with senior executives of forums, financial institutions, and NGOs.
  • Collaborate closely with Zero Conversion Commodity team to identify target companies, goals and messaging, and to coordinate ZCC team interactions with key forums, financial institutions, and NGOs.
  • Develop and administer departmental budget and has authority to modify budget based on changing circumstances. Operate within budget guidelines to ensure sound financial performance.
  • Serve as a program manager and coordinates the work of others for assigned projects.
  • Serve as SME for investor engagement and support of teams working with financial industry.
  • Travel is expected up to 20% of the time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in political science, environmental policy, business or related field and 6 years of senior management level experience in government relations, corporate sector, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Demonstrated experience building strong relationships across a matrixed organization and with external partners.
  • Proven negotiation, communication, and presentation skills with corporate executives, board members, and government officials.
  • Outstanding analytical and project management capabilities. Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and implement complex projects in an unstructured environment.
  • Experience developing and growing a strategy from concept stage to maturity.
  • Experience negotiating complex high profile or sensitive agreements.
  • Fluency in English.

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Excellent team player with experience working in multi-disciplinary groups, using influence and interpersonal skills, listening, diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships with all levels of staff.
  • Independent and self-motivated with the ability to participate effectively in a remote team environment.

Salary Information

This position may be based in any country where The Nature Conservancy has an established entity, taking into consideration legal restrictions, such as non-national ratios and immigration processing times. For U.S. based applicants only, the starting pay range for this position is generally within the range of $120,000 - $150,000 for annual base salary and is based on location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
