Cygnet Health Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Cygnet Newham House. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional dining experiences for our residents, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of nutritious and appetizing meals, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards.
- Perform cooking tasks and other kitchen duties, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas, and dining room, adhering to Cygnet's standards and food hygiene regulations.
- Rotate stock and put away all deliveries, maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Handle, maintain, and store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures.
- Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
Requirements
- Experience in catering, preferably within a care setting.
- Holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards.
- Enthusiastic, keen to learn, and an active team member.
- Polite and professional, with a positive attitude at all times.
- Excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels.
- Diligent and take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.
- Able to work on your own initiative, as part of a team, and under supervision.
