POSITION OVERVIEW

The Logistics Warehouse Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and precise operation of warehouse functions. Responsibilities include managing inbound and outbound pallet movements, maintaining accurate stock levels through regular stock takes, and engaging in process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety and demonstrate a proactive approach to inventory accuracy and organization of warehouse equipment and supplies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following functions are essential to fulfilling the purpose of this role. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary:

  • Document and log deliveries, entering stock into the system and providing necessary documentation to the purchasing department.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Store products in designated locations and segregate as necessary.
  • Facilitate the efficient operation of goods-in and goods-out processes.
  • Conduct and record monthly stock audits as required.
  • Identify and report damaged goods to the purchasing or production manager.
  • Ensure proper disposal and recycling of waste materials.
  • Perform safety inspections of handling equipment.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations as outlined in the company's policy.
  • Assist with receiving and loading pallet deliveries as needed.
  • Organize and manage inventory and storage areas in compliance with security protocols.
  • Ensure accuracy in shipments and inventory transactions.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Engage in process enhancement activities.
  • Coordinate with other departments as necessary.
  • Complete any other reasonable tasks as assigned by a supervisor or manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Essential:

  • Valid UK Driving License
  • Understanding of stock control practices
  • Demonstrated experience as a Warehouse Operative
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic approach to process improvement
  • Proficient data entry skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities

Desirable:

  • Forklift Truck License
  • Manual Handling certification
  • Experience with SAP (Business ByDesign variant)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate operations
