Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for preparing annual and interim consolidated financial statements for our main trading entity and group entities, to a FTSE 100 standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement best practice processes and procedures around external reporting, in both statutory and regulatory environments.
  • Review and implement new accounting pronouncements and other corporate reporting developments affecting Thames Water.
  • Produce key deliverables for submission to the Audit Committee and Board at various stages during the year.
  • Collaborate with the external audit team at year-end, half-year, and other times during the year.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, such as liquidations, new company set-ups, control reviews, and system reviews, as required by the business.

Requirements

  • Chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Strong technical background with experience in external financial reporting under IFRS, including preparation of consolidated accounts.
  • Experience working in a Big 6 Accounting Firm or a large FTSE 100 Company, with previous experience of preparing accounts.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to maintain and build robust relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong experience working in a team towards a common objective, with tight deadlines.
  • Desirable experience in using company IT systems, including SAP and HFM.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary from £55,000 to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
