We are seeking a motivated individual to become part of our team as a Food Service Assistant within our busy wards, specifically in a specialized unit.

Main Responsibilities
Candidates should possess experience working with elderly individuals and have the knowledge and understanding necessary to support their catering needs. Therefore, it is essential that applicants have prior work experience in a healthcare or care setting and can provide evidence of their experience during the interview. A strong understanding of this demographic and their requirements, along with a caring and patient demeanor aligned with our Trust values, is crucial.
The role entails direct interaction with patients to take meal orders, serving both hot and cold meals, and providing beverages, thus excellent communication skills are vital.
Food Service Assistants are responsible for maintaining a clean environment to a high standard, completing HACCP documentation, and possessing a basic understanding of COSHH and food safety regulations.
The position requires the use of various equipment such as iPads, hot meal trolleys, and beverage carts. While comprehensive training will be provided for safe operation, applicants should be prepared for a physically demanding shift that includes standing, pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting, often in warm conditions.
