Structural Engineer Opportunity

Calibre Search Ltd is working alongside a major UK-based multidisciplinary Engineering Consultancy to find a skilled Structural Engineer to join their expanding Bristol office.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Structural Engineer to work on a variety of projects spanning commercial, retail, residential, industrial, and scientific sectors. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for carrying out structural engineering assessments and inspections of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out structural engineering assessments and inspections of new and existing properties
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, including dilapidation reports and due diligence structural surveys
  • Undertake analysis and design using hand calculations and software packages, including CSC Fastrak, Tekla, Building Designer, TEDDS, CSI Safe, Robot, and Bluebeam Revu
  • Liaise with and lead other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution that meets the client's objectives

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years' UK industry experience
  • Experience in all common forms of construction, materials, and building types
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and numerical skills
  • Experience in working on listed and historical buildings is advantageous
