About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Software Development Engineer to join our team at Kallikor. As a key member of our Enterprise Insights team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining our cutting-edge synthetic environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software pipelines to extract, synthesize, and integrate data from various sources, enabling simulation engines and user interfaces.
  • Develop tooling that empowers model developers to work more efficiently and effectively.
  • Optimize model performance to achieve new levels of speed and scale.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support adjacent projects as needed.
Requirements
  • A strong scientific and engineering mindset, with software engineering experience and a passion for resolving complex technical problems.
  • Prior experience applying model and data engineering to solve customer problems.
  • Proficiency in mathematical modeling paradigms (e.g. systems dynamics, event-based modeling, agent-based modeling) and associated simulation tools.
  • Advanced skills in Python, including software engineering design patterns.
  • Experience with tools and libraries for modeling, data analysis, and scientific computing.
  • Natural ability to balance project requirements with quality and good practices.
  • Ability to think holistically about software development, including testing, documentation, security, and performance.
