Contract Openedge DBA Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled OpenEdge DBA to join our team and support our clients through a busy period. As an OpenEdge DBA, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of Dev/Test/Production OpenEdge environments. Your tasks will include managing and monitoring database backups and data growth, refreshing QA and Dev environments, and providing recommendations to management for DB configuration, software purchases, and migration paths.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and support OpenEdge databases
  2. Install, maintain, and administer mission-critical OpenEdge databases
  3. Perform database performance tuning and optimization
  4. Configure and install OpenEdge Server Instances
  5. Migrate and upgrade OpenEdge Server Instances
  6. Provide out-of-hours and on-call support

Requirements:

  1. Experience with installation, maintenance, and administration of mission-critical OpenEdge databases
  2. Experience with all aspects of OE v10, v11, and v12 database administration
  3. Experience with multi-volume databases and type II storage areas
  4. Experience with OE Replication
  5. Experience with OpenEdge on Windows Server OS
  6. Familiarity with OpenEdge Management
  7. Development skills in OpenEdge

  1. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  2. Skilled in multitasking and designing applications
  3. Skilled in OE installation and configuration
  4. Strong prioritization and time management skills
  5. Ability to prepare high-quality written documentation
  6. Highly motivated, career-oriented, and able to approach challenging situations in a calm, logical, and methodical manner
