Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the monthly payroll payment processing in line with legislation and company policy.
  • Build and foster strong relationships with stakeholders, understanding their service requirements and ensuring any issues are dealt with in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Provide advice and guidance on payroll best practice, policy, process, and operating procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, make suggestions, and implement appropriate changes.
  • Ensure the payroll schedule is adhered to and any changes to the schedules are communicated to stakeholders at the earliest opportunity.
  • Manage payments to third parties, including HMRC and Pension providers.
  • Administer year-end payroll processing (e.g. P11d) and reporting in line with legislation.
  • Be fully conversant with the systems required to operate as part of the role and to use systems in line with policies and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice and interpretation of Payroll legislation to support managers when making pay-related decisions.
Requirements
  • 3+ years minimum experience working in a high-volume In-House payroll function.
  • Previous experience with Resourcelink payroll software.
  • Strong Excel skills, Vlookups, and pivot tables essential.
  • Ability to manipulate and develop HR and Payroll reports.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Credible and professional.
  • Resilient.
  • CIPP qualified (desirable).
  • Ability to work on own initiative, working within a team, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Supervisory skills (desirable).
