The Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join our team. As a Supervising Social Worker, you will work closely with foster parents to promote meaningful and relevant supervision of placements. You will also be responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising foster parents, as well as promoting the welfare of children placed with Orange Grove.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to foster parents within a realistic caseload, enabling a high level of supervision
  • Conduct regular supervision sessions with allocated foster parents, ensuring their compliance with regulatory standards
  • Work in partnership with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to ensure full participation in assessment, planning, review, and decision-making relating to safeguarding and child protection
Requirements
  • Hold a Social Care England recognised qualification in Social Work or equivalent
  • Previous experience of family placement work and foster care practice, including the assessment of potential foster parents
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fostering regulations, child care law, and safeguarding legislation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to high-quality practice
  • Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Office and databases
