Project Quantity Surveyor Opportunity

Wates Living Space, a leading provider of planned and responsive maintenance services in the UK's social housing sector, is seeking a skilled Project Quantity Surveyor to join their Planned team in the Nottingham area.

The successful candidate will report to the Commercial Manager and be responsible for developing and implementing pre and post-contract strategies, commercial functions, and contract reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to project commercial strategies and taking ownership of subcontract packages
  • Conducting site visits, measuring works required, and pricing up scoping documents with the schedule of rates as agreed with the client
  • Working with the commercial and operations teams to procure works packages in a timely manner, including producing a procurement programme
  • Making informed decisions and understanding the importance of maximizing profit and opportunities

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will be a qualified and experienced surveyor with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. Experience in social housing or working with a main contractor is desirable, but not essential. The ability to form and develop relationships with stakeholders is crucial.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies for projects
  • Manage subcontract packages and ensure timely procurement
  • Conduct site visits and measure works required
  • Price up scoping documents and ensure compliance with client agreements

Requirements:

  • Qualified and experienced surveyor
  • Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to form and develop relationships with stakeholders
