Position Overview

Role Summary

We are in search of a knowledgeable Service Charge Specialist to become a vital part of our Service Charge division.

In this position, you will report directly to the Service Charge Manager and be tasked with providing exceptional service to service charge contributors and various stakeholders. Your role will involve collaborating with colleagues and teams throughout Southern Housing to aid in the enhancement of our Service Charge operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Precisely calculating, formulating, and distributing all projected and actual service charges while ensuring adherence to legal timelines, contractual obligations, policies, and procedures to guarantee full cost recovery, particularly in intricate cases.
  • Delivering a client-focused, expert service for service charge contributors, addressing resident inquiries directly to resolve complex issues and collaborating with internal teams to ensure the resolution of complaints and dissatisfaction.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of the systems and processes necessary for the advancement of Service Charge operations.
  • Proactively collaborating with management to facilitate the integration and oversight of legacy systems and stock, while helping to establish standardized best practices and procedures.
  • Reviewing and updating procedures to ensure complete recovery of service chargeable expenses.
  • Fostering strong partnerships with key budget holders and service managers to enhance scheme knowledge and ensure accurate allocation and consistent establishment of service charges.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in service charge analysis, with a solid understanding of residential and commercial service charge management, including current legislative requirements and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing and delivering multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in engaging with local authorities, the broader community, and other external stakeholders.
  • Outstanding communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Strong financial acumen and numerical proficiency.
