- Prepare, cook, and present meals attractively, with a focus on home-cooked meals and minimal use of convenience foods.
- Ensure modified meals and snacks are provided in line with operational procedures.
- Provide a breakfast service to residents, taking into account their preferences and requests.
- Serve food to residents in dining rooms at lunch and supper times, ensuring a rotation of catering staff between communities.
- Engage with residents daily, gathering feedback and making necessary changes to maintain a high standard of service.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the main and satellite kitchen, monitoring these areas and conducting regular audits.
- Manage kitchen stock levels and stores, ensuring accurate rotation and compliance with food hygiene regulations and company policies.
- Order stocks and check deliveries to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure equipment is used appropriately, reporting defects and withdrawing from use immediately.
- Attend residents' meetings, evening and weekend functions to provide a quality service to residents and guests.
- Support the compliance team in ensuring all staff have up-to-date legislative and mandatory training.
- Complete and maintain Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, and HACCP checks, ensuring compliance with food safety and health and safety policies.
- Level 2 or equivalent in catering, with a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and Level 2 Health and Safety qualification.
- Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) training, awareness of wider COSHH legislation, and knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Awareness of safeguarding and ability to work with residents with diverse needs.
- Good background in catering, with experience in menu development, food preparation, and presentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and external partners.
- Ability to lead by example, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.
